Yet another update on my surgery for those who are interested.

As many of you know, I had emergency surgery in April 2019, and the treatment that I agreed to involved two surgeries to take place six months apart. The first took place in April, with the second scheduled for September or October. Then there was a mix-up, my surgeon was replaced with a different one at the last minute who didn't know what I had consented to, and he was unaware of the six month deadline.

So in September, I agreed to delay the surgery until the nine month mark, but my surgery would take place at the end of January. Then the surgeon needed to do some more tests, and that delayed it until February or March.

Today it was announced that all surgeries are being postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19, and there is no information on when I might actually get my surgery that is already five months overdue.

I have read in the medical literature that this particular surgery is more dangerous if the two surgeries are more than seven months apart, but now it looks like I won't get mine for at least thirteen months. Fortunately I have a very good surgeon and he has a great team supporting him, so I trust them to get it done safely when the time comes.

But for tonight I am getting tired of waiting.

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know where I might be able to rent some laparoscopic surgical equipment for performing my own reconstructive surgery :D
