June 3, 2016 - A reminder to all of my fellow Tillicum school alumni that they are holding celebrations this afternoon in celebration of their 100th anniversary. Three generations of my family have attended, and I still have family members living near the school. It will be great fun to see how it has changed in the 26 years since I was last there!

May 22, 2016 - Interesting to read this article about doctor's locally who were denied payment by the government in the mid-1990s, and have just been awarded millions of dollars in damages. Now if the government would just look at the millions of dollars owed to family caregivers who propped up the hospital system and kept healthcare budgets down during that same time period.

May 20, 2016 - I am so happy that this wild week has ended, and I can rest and relax and enjoy a three day weekend! Enjoy the holidays everyone!

May 14, 2016 - Yet another mystery today, as I have discovered a collection of letters that were addressed to me, and yet somehow ended up in my brother's garbage can. I smell a rat...

May 9, 2016 - For unknown reasons the webhost for my updated websites, which I started building in January, has been unresponsive for the past three days. The partial websites are still available on the internet, but they can no longer be updated or edited. At this point it seems to be a technical glitch, but given the history of cyber-attacks against my websites in the past it is always suspicious. I will give updates as they become available.

April 25, 2016 - I am hearing rumors that the server that has been hosting my popular Grandiloquent Dictionary website for the last seventeen years may be shutting down in the next few months. Nothing is confirmed yet though. However my site will still be available through the new mirror site that I am setting up, located at http://dictionary.drchrisbird.net.

April 7, 2016 - It was ten years ago today that I was promised that if I would move back in with my parents and look after them for just a few more months, my brother would be entered into a treatment program for his issues within a couple of months. Ten years later and still waiting.

April 5, 2016 - Today is National Caregiver`s Day in Canada, a day to celebrate and acknowledge the sacrifices made by countless thousands of unpaid caregivers who look after the elderly and the disabled with no support of any kind. In my opinion no country can be considered to have a proper healthcare system if it still relies on family members to be fulltime unpaid caregivers for the patients the hospital system refuses to treat. The use of family caregivers should be banned outright in the Canadian medical system.( Or maybe I am just still bitter about my own experiences :) )

April 1, 2016 - A reminder that this is also the start of the Ape-ril fundraising campaign, encouraging people to unleash their inner ape to raise money for orangutan rescue and habitat.

March 27, 2016 - HAPPEASTER!!

March 17, 2016 - HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

March 4, 2016 - I don't normally get involved in politics, but this new brickstarter campaign is just too important to overlook. I encourage everyone to watch the promotional video and then help out at the official website.
