I have had a few people inquiring about my health and recovery lately, so I thought I would post a general update for everyone.

Right now, I am basically completely recovered from my surgery in April. I have been living my normal life, eating normally, and doing everything I was doing before the surgery. I am doing great.

However the nature of my original surgery means that I need to have a second one at the three to six month mark. We knew that before the first surgery, and it was planned all along. Unfortunately we have now past the three month mark, and I still do not have a date for the surgery. I don't know the reason, because they aren't telling me anything at this point, but one of the nurses I spoke with a few weeks ago told me that the hospital sometimes gets busy over the summer and surgeries such as mine can be delayed. Unfortunately she said that some patients end up waiting over a year for their final surgery.

So for now it is just a matter of waiting. I am not having any difficulties at all, and I can manage my few medical requirements. And the staff at the outpatient clinic that I visit each week are really great people and have been very kind and supportive of me. (Which will make some people think that I must have had head trauma - imagine me actually liking and praising hospital staff! )

Hopefully the next surgery will be schedule early in the Autumn months, and I can be finished with all of these medical issues. I will certainly let everyone know how I progress, but I just thought people might like to know that I am doing fine right now.

Its hard to be an impatient patient :)
